Like any cool web site, our dream is to get our name out world wide. To let everyone know that we are here. In that dream, our ultimate goal is to bring together all the Yes fans from around the globe, to be apart of our wonderful community. One that has been built by all of you. To help in this self promotion campaign for the site (and ultimately the band), we have put together the SoundChaser.Org Swag Shop! The shop will help our community in many different ways. The first and most obvious form of help will be advertisement for the web site itself. It will also serve has recognition for the band, too. When people see the item (t-shirt, tank top, coffee mug, etc.) they will probably be inclined to go look up the web site. Maybe it will bring someone in contact with the band's music that hasn't been for a while. Maybe it introduce a long-time fan to Yes in cyberspace. Or maybe it will create a new fan of the band's music. Though we hope it will bring Yes fans from around the world to SoundChaser.Org! The second form of help the shop will bring is financial support for the web site. As you might already be aware of, SoundChaser.Org is put together and maintained on a volunteer basis. This is not a "pay site" that brings in monthly fees from it's members or does the site have sponsorships that pay all of/part of the costs to run and maintain the site. All items sold at the SCO Swag Shop are marked up exactly $2.00 (US) above our cost from the supplier. This money will go directly to paying for software and hosting services as well as any other software/hardware/items/services the web site will need. The sale of these items are not for our profit. If we come across a surplus of money from the sale of these items, we will make a donation in the clubs name with the extra funds to a charity that is supported by one or all of the members and/or associates of the band (Opio World, etc.). Also added to this, we will offer the availability of Yes CD's, books, videos, and DVD's at SCO through the amazon.com Associate Program. This service will allow you to either click on the item directly cataloged on the site, or search amazon's extensive stock to find items that you are looking for. In return, amazon will give us a cut of the profit. In the future we plan on directly linking not only all Yes CD's, book, videos, and DVD's, but also the band member's solo albums and other projects outside of the band. Here is the schedule of payments that we will receive though the Associate Program at amazon.com: The associate will earn a referral fee on each qualifying sale, as long as the customer accepts and pays for the item. The referral fee is 15% of the selling price of individually linked books sold at 10-30% off list price. The referral fee is 5% of the selling price of any other qualifying in-print book. Out-of-print items do not qualify for referral fees. The referral fee is 5% of the selling price of any products other than books (e.g., CDs, DVDs, videos, audiobooks, toys, consumer electronics, etc.). The referral fee is 2.5% of revenues for all qualifying Marketplace products sold by a third party seller. Referral fees for products other than books, music, videos, and DVDs are limited to a maximum of $10 per item. All of this is to help the continued growth of our wonderful community here at SoundChaser.Org and keep the spirit of Yes music alive!
